OPERATION
Austart Engine Starting Systems utilise compressed air or gas stored in a pressure vessel and released through control valves to a pneumatically driven motor. This provides a driving force to firstly engage the starter drive pinion with the flywheel ring gear and secondly to crank the engine. Systems can be tailored to suit specific requirements taking into account duty cycles, environment and quality of air or gas supply.

CONSTRUCTION

Austart equipment is constructed in aluminium housings to meet the requirements of the transport and construction industries with lightweight products of high performance. Alternatively component housings are produced in cast iron providing more robust heavy duty equipment to meet the demands of the mining and petroleum applications whilst meeting the strict industry safety codes. Along with the best materials available, specialised metal treatments and surface finishes are employed to enhance product durability in the harshest environments whilst maintaining serviceability.
